With a combination of focused collections that come together to create a comprehensive yet detailed look into the Pacific Northwest, the three major fields of study at the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture are regional history, American Indians and fine art. The museum's collection of items includes over 68,000 pieces drawn from around the world, though many are specific to the region. One of the highlights of the museum is the associated Campbell House, a historically furnished 1898 English Tudor Revival home which visitors can tour. It is located on the western side of the city, two blocks south of the river.
